Welcome to my portfolio! I’m Shiyam Sundar, a passionate UAV Systems and Flight Operations Engineer specializing in unmanned aerial systems. Based in Chennai, India, I have a strong foundation in mechanical engineering with hands-on experience in drone operations, subsystem integration, and flight testing. I hold a DGCA-approved Remote Pilot Certificate (RPC) for Small and Medium category drones (up to 150 kg), with expertise in both VLOS and BVLOS operations.

Letter of Appreciation

The Mehar Baba II Challenge, conducted by the Indian Air Force (IAF), is a prestigious national competition aimed at advancing autonomous drone technologies for defense applications. It challenges participants to develop innovative UAV solutions for real-world missions.

I have received a letter from the IAF for participating in this challenge, a significant milestone in my aerospace and drone technology journey. Among participants across India, our team secured a top 10 position, a remarkable achievement. I proudly led the team with strategic planning and innovative solutions, demonstrating technical expertise and leadership.

We were the second institution to achieve a top 10 rank, competing against established corporate companies. This experience strengthened my skills in autonomous flight systems, payload integration, and real-time mission execution, motivating me to pursue innovative aerospace solutions.
